Teach People To Avoid Triggers Of Crisis – Gov Fintiri Tells UNDP

Adamawa Governor, Rt Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri Tuesday tasked the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to help and educate the people on ways to avoid those issues that trigger crisis in the society.

He made the commendation when he received in audience United Nations Resident Humanitarian Coordinator and UNDP Representative, Edward Kallon in the government House, Yola.

This, according the Governor will assist towards ensuring that people take a drastic solution towards immediate curtailing of any crisis before it happens.

Fintiri commended the efforts of UNDP towards crisis management in the Northeast which has restored and promoted peace and tranquility in the subregion.

He noted with appreciation that the efforts of the state government has paid off in terms of minimising crisis when compared to 2019 before the Advent of the present administration.

He stressed that Adamawa is a peaceful state and his administration is poised to keep the profile high through Investing in infrastructure and human capital development to halt rural urban drift.

Earlier in his remarks, the UN Resident Humanitarian Coordinator and UNDP Representative, Edward Kallon said the visit was to bid farewell to the Governor as he moves to Zimbabwe.

Kallon opined that the only panacea to crisis remains peace and sustainable growth and lauded Governor Fintiri for supporting the UNDP in that regard at all times.
