Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri Monday charged the National Youth Service Corps NYSC Members posted to Adamawa to respect the customs and traditions of the people in their various places of posting and avoid dabbling into the local politics.
The Governor gave the advice during the passing out parade of two thousand and sixty Batch B. One corps members posted to Adamawa after their mandatory three weeks training held at the State NYSC Orientation Camp Damare Girei local government.
Governor Umaru Fintiri exaplained that the general conduct of the corps members has proven that the people of the county had broken the barrier of ethnicity, tribal and sectional affiliations which has crippled the progress, unity and development of Nigeria for long.
The Governor explained that the purpose of the orientation course was design to prepare the NYSC Corps members mentally, socially, morally and physically to tackle the challenges they may likely face during the remaining days of their service.
He assured the corps members that Adamawa is a home to everyone as the citizens are peaceful and hospitable and charged them to brace up to make positive impacts in the lives of the people in the state.
The Governor therefore urged the corp members to locate centres where they can speed up the process of perfecting the various skills they learnt from the camp through the skill acquisition and entrepreneurship development training for their self-reliant.
Speaking earlier, the State Coordinator of NYSC Malam Ibrahim Muhammad Tukur said during the training the corps members were drilled into national issues and entrepreneurship skills to enable them be self reliant after their one year national service.
Malam Tukur thanked the state government for supporting the NYSC Scheme in Adamawa and hopes such will be maintained for progress of the scheme.
