The Journey
Saturday 27, July could have been a different story to our families, what I tagged as a great loss. Our vehicle took off from Yola to Mubi at about 8:16 am on Saturday for the interment of our late Aunty, the journey went on well and was sober but without hitches with 15 passengers on board
Our departure from Mubi was amidst feelings, families, friends exchanged pleasantries, we had others dropped from the bus we came with and decided to join other vehicles while others decided to stay back for more few days with the deceased family, we were left few in the business, before taking off, we had some additional passengers who needed to get back to Yola same day, decided to join us for the journey, we departed Mubi about 2:26 pm to Yola.
It was just an interval of 1:30mins driver from Mubi, leaving Gombi local government we’ve just topped the fuel in the vehicle, I could remember receiving calls from Architect Sunday and Mr. Raymond in Yola, to still confirm if I would grace the meetings scheduled same day? My responses were yes.
10 extra mins away from that point, the 18-seater bus in which we were in, hit a red-colored starlet behind, our bus tried to get back on the lane, but lost control, within a blink of an eye, our bus somersaulted three times, off the road and ends into a bushy area in Gulantabal locals of Song local government, degree of injuries was recorded, we were all rushed to a hospital in Gombi local government by a police patrol team on duty along the axes and other patriotic citizens
