Fear and apprehension has engulfed the inhabitants of Muchalla community, a home village of Senator repesenting Adamawa Northern Senatorial Zone, Elisha Ishaku Abbo, following an attack which left the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Muchalla Ward, Ishaya Dauda Dan Bama and one other dead.
Recall that on 13th July, 2019, unknown gunmen were reported to have killed an Uncle of Senator Elisha Abbo, and kidnapped his step mother who gave birth 9 days to the incident.
The Senator's Uncle was reportedly murdered around 1:00 am at Muchalla, a Ward in Mubi North Local Government of Adamawa State.
On yesterday's attack, NEWS PLATFORM learnt that the PDP Chairman Muchalla Ward, Ishaka Dauda Dan Bama, was killed few minutes after 9:00pm.
A family source said that the attackers, 2 in number invaded the residence of the victim on a motorcycle, and upon sighting him, opened fire on and killed him on the spot.
According to him, the same incident occurred at Bagira village in Muchalla Ward where yet to be identified gunmen invaded the residence of a farmer and a family man, Wakidi Atva, and shot him dead, and abducted a family member of a resident, Bolo.
While at Lira, a village in Vimtim ward, the gunmen were reported to have stormed the village and kidnapped a woman and her son, making the total of 3 people kidnapped in Muchalla and Vimtim ward in Mubi north LGA respectively few days ago.
When contacted for confirmation, the Acting PDP Chairman Mubi North LGA, Sunday Apikina, confirmed the killing of the PDP Chairman Muchalla Ward, and 1 other, saying that 3 people including a woman were abducted in Bagira and Lira.
On his part, the Transition Committee Chairman of Mubi North LGC, Jibrilla Manga, told NEWS PLATFORM that the PDP Youth Leader and Councillor Muchalla Ward, Nicholas Williams, had informed him that unknown gunmen yesterday night killed Ishaya Dauda Dan Bama.
Jibrilla Manga, added that the incident in Bagira village took place about 3 days ago, and said that as the chief security officer of the LGC, he has been doing everything possible so as to bring an end to the security challenges.
But when contacted, the Spokesman of the Police Command in the State, DSP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, confirmed the killing of the Chairman, and said he is yet to be briefed on the other incidents.
He added that the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Mubi north has briefed him about the attack, and said their men including homicide unit have been deployed in the area.
