Ex-Power Minister Sale Mamman is detained and arrested by the EFCC for alleged fraud.

Sale Mamman, a former minister of power, was detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) early on Wednesday, according to reliable sources.

In line with the EFCC's continuing investigation into alleged corruption in the implementation of power projects, Mamman is now being held in detention at the organization's headquarters.

Mamman is accused of plotting with employees in charge of the finances for the Zungeru and Mambilla Hydro Electric Power plants in order to divert money that they then distributed among themselves.

According to sources close to the inquiry, properties connected to the suspects that were purportedly purchased with the money from the corruption have been found in Nigeria and abroad.

In addition, millions of Nigerian Naira and US dollars were recovered.

Currently, the Spokesman for the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren, has not commented on this latest development.
