Ishaku won a total of 12 out of the 16 Local government in the state. Scoring the total vote of 520,433. While the APC candidate, Alhaji Sani Danladi Abubakar scored a total vote of 362,725 and thereby returned elected.
The PDP won and beating the APC contestant with a margin of 362,725.
Meeting the requirement of INEC, the returning officer of Taraba state, Professor Y. Iya (DVC Mautech) declared Declared him winner.
