Senator Ahmed Makarfi's purported suspension is rejected by PDP.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has rejected the demand by leaders of Tudun Wada Ward, Makarfi Local Government, Kaduna State, to sack Senator Ahmed Makarfi.

It included Hon. Debo Ologunagba, Publicity secretary of the party. The statement reads: “The attention of the PDP National Working Committee (NWC) has been drawn to the alleged sacking of the former Governor of Kaduna State and former Acting Chairman of our party, Senator Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi by the Executive Committee. I am of Wada Ward in Makarfi Local Government of Kaduna State. “The NWC, after a thorough investigation of all the issues raised by the Ward Executive, declares the alleged decision and action of the Tudun Wada ward leaders, which is limited to disciplinary matters, null and void as not in accordance with the provisions of the PDP. constitution (amended in 2017). "For clarity, section 57 (7) provides that "notwithstanding any other provision relating to discipline, no Executive Committee at any level other than the National Executive Committee shall deal with disciplinary matters which may concern or affect a member of the State. executive committee. committee, deputy governor or member of the National Assembly”. “The NWC therefore calls on all leaders, critical stakeholders, members, supporters of our party in Kaduna State and the general public to ignore the alleged suspension of Senator Makarfi by Ward, who is a member of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of our party. .. “The NWC also enjoins all members of the party in Kaduna State to remain united at this critical time especially as the leadership of the party moves forward in our collective effort to ensure comprehensive reconciliation of our party,” the statement read.
